Co-op cooking game tips for three stars
Three stars does not come from clicking faster, it comes from a kitchen that wastes no seconds. These tips come from a lot of matches, roughly in order of how much they matter.
Before the match
- Check the menu and star targets in the map picker: know which dishes need the grill, which need a plate and which are sides.
- Pick a map your team can three-star rather than the hardest one — your ranking score keeps only your record on each map.
- Turn voice chat on. One "I’ve got plates" saves ten runs to the wrong place.
The first ten seconds: claim stations
- One owner per station — two people at one pan is two people doing one job
- Always keep one person on plates and the sink, even in a team of two
- On maps with tables, the plates person also clears dirty plates off the tables
- Whoever is free first handles sides and drinks
While cooking
- Start the slowest step first: let anything grilling or frying cook while you chop the rest.
- Watch the countdown bar once food on the stove is done — past it, the food burns, and burnt food only goes in the bin.
- For ingredients that only chop while you stand at the board, do not wander off halfway: progress pauses until you come back.
- Have to leave mid-cook? Pick the ingredient up or set it on a counter — the cook timer pauses and resumes when it is back on the right station.
- Stuck? Look for the green circle: it always points at the next step for the most urgent dish.
Serving customers
- Serve the customers whose patience pie is nearly empty first — every lost order costs team points and breaks the combo.
- Serving early earns a speed bonus, so a dish served fast is worth more than one served at the last second.
- For two-dish customers, serve whichever is ready first — it scores right away, but the combo only rises once both are in.
- Never carry a dirty plate to a customer. One dirty-plate serve costs exactly as much as letting the customer walk out.
- Glance at the ticket before running to the counter: a wrong dish is not penalised, but it costs the same time.
After the match
- Read the contribution board: if one person carried everything, re-split stations next time.
- Look at "Dishes lost": whether you lost orders to patience or to dirty plates tells you what to fix.
- Replay the map with your lowest record — that is where your ranking score grows the most.
- Keep the same crew if you want the group leaderboard; swapping one person makes a new group.
Frequently asked questions
We served lots of dishes — why no three stars?
Usually lost orders: each one costs team points and resets the combo, so a match with lots of dishes but frequent walk-outs can score lower than a steadier match with fewer dishes.
Should one person always stay on the sink?
On maps with the plate system, yes — especially in a rush. Running out of clean plates freezes the whole kitchen, and a single dirty plate served by mistake loses a whole order.
Does turning off the guide circle help?
It makes no difference to the score. It is only a hint; once you know the kitchen, turn it off with the eye icon next to Pause to reduce clutter.
